Introduction
At STEEL Structure Homes, we want to make one thing clear: we are not affiliated with BONE Structure, nor do we represent their former company in any legal or corporate capacity. However, our founder, Chad B. Briand, spent over a decade building BONE Structure homes across Ontario gaining invaluable, hands-on experience with their patented steel framing systems, panelized components, and architectural workflows. When BONE Structure ceased operations, Chad took that deep technical knowledge, along with a passion for structural innovation, and created STEEL Structure Homes—an entirely independent entity that honors the core principles of strength, sustainability, and modern design that once defined BONE.
Throughout their years of operation, BONE Structure left a powerful footprint. Their homes were state-of-the-art, futuristic, and highly engineered—but now many of them are entering a new phase. Some need service or warranty support. Others are undergoing ownership changes. Some homeowners are planning additions or full renovations, while others simply don’t know where to turn. And unfortunately, most builders and trades are hesitant to take on the challenge. They’re unfamiliar with the steel system, unsure how to price the work, and lack the knowledge to make safe structural changes. That’s why we’re stepping in.
We’re not guessing—we’ve lived and breathed these homes. As one of the only Steel Home Builders in Canada and the U.S. with real-world experience building BONE Structure homes, we know how to diagnose issues, open up walls, marry new steel framing to the original structure, and execute projects with the same level of engineering precision BONE once stood for. We’ve already worked with multiple BONE Structure homeowners—some who purchased their homes recently and want to personalize them, and others who were original clients now looking for professional continuity.
Following careful legal review, we’ve confirmed that offering services to these homeowners is well within our rights. We do so respectfully, with full transparency and without using any proprietary designs, trademarks, or digital assets from BONE Structure. What we offer is not a reproduction—it’s an evolution. Our system is designed for compatibility and performance, and our methods reflect a decade of hands-on experience that no one else in the market can claim.
This is why we’ve launched the BONE Structure Services Program—a professional solution tailored to the needs of BONE Structure homeowners across North America. Whether you’re facing a stubborn leak, planning a multi-room addition, fixing construction deficiencies, or simply need a qualified builder who understands the bones of your home, we are here to help. At STEEL Structure Homes, we’re not just building the future—we’re safeguarding the legacy of one of the most iconic steel-framed home systems ever created.

The BONE Structure
Home Services Process
The 5 Stage Process
Our Discovery Consultation is the essential first step in our BONE Structure Services Program. This isn’t just a meet-and-greet—it’s a deep dive into your home’s history, your current goals, and the unique attributes of your BONE Structure residence. Whether you’re a new homeowner unfamiliar with the system or an original owner looking to expand, we take the time to understand your vision, challenges, and objectives.
We’ll assess the existing conditions of your BONE Structure home, explore potential renovation or addition opportunities, discuss budget expectations, and review any known deficiencies or service needs. This is also your chance to learn how STEEL Structure Homes, as experienced Steel Home Builders, can seamlessly work with the BONE Structure framework to deliver compatible, high-quality results. From there, we begin forming the roadmap for your project—built on trust, transparency, and unmatched technical insight.
The Budgetary Review is a critical step in the BONE Structure Services Program, designed to bring financial clarity to projects involving existing BONE Structure homes. Because every renovation, addition, or service scope is unique, this stage allows us to carefully evaluate costs based on the current condition of your home, the complexity of the steel system, and the level of integration required.
We break down both hard costs—such as materials, steel fabrication, structural modifications, and construction—and soft costs, including design services, engineering, permits, and project coordination. We also review optional upgrades, energy-efficiency improvements, and long-term performance investments so you can make informed decisions that align with your goals and expectations.
Our objective is to establish a realistic, transparent budget before moving forward—eliminating uncertainty and preventing costly surprises. By grounding the project in accurate pricing and expert insight from experienced Steel Home Builders, we ensure your BONE Structure renovation or addition moves forward with confidence, control, and a clear financial roadmap.
The Design Process is where your vision meets expert execution—combining creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of BONE Structure’s unique architecture. Whether you’re looking to reconfigure your space, modernize interiors, or add entirely new living areas, our design team works closely with you to craft solutions that respect the integrity of your existing home while adapting it for the future.
What sets us apart is our rare ability to design and engineer seamless additions to BONE Structure homes using our own STEEL Structure Homes system. Because our founder spent over a decade building BONE homes before founding STEEL, we know exactly how to integrate our modern steel-framing methods with the original BONE system—ensuring structural compatibility, aesthetic cohesion, and long-term durability.
We use architectural modeling, structural analysis, and real-world building science to deliver personalized designs that not only meet your needs today but enhance the legacy of your home for generations to come.
Once your design and budget are finalized, we transition into Project Initiation—the phase where your renovation, addition, or service work begins to materialize. Unlike conventional builds, working with a BONE Structure home requires a precise understanding of its steel framework, panelization, and original engineering constraints. That’s why this phase is executed with an exceptional level of planning and care.
Whether we’re integrating our proprietary STEEL Structure Homes system into an existing BONE Structure layout, executing a full interior renovation, or addressing legacy warranty deficiencies, our team of specialized tradespeople and project managers approaches every task with unmatched expertise and attention to detail.
Site preparation, structural reinforcement, envelope integration, utility alignment, and finish work are all conducted under our close supervision, ensuring compatibility, durability, and seamless execution. Throughout the project, you’ll receive regular updates and full transparency—because for us, communication is just as critical as construction.
Our goal is simple: to respect the legacy of your BONE Structure home while elevating it with modern design, upgraded performance, and enhanced livability—built to today’s standards by the very people who once built them from the ground up.
The Handover Stage marks the final step in your renovation, addition, or service journey—and the beginning of a renewed chapter in your BONE Structure home. After rigorous quality control, system checks, and a detailed final inspection, we ensure that every aspect of the project meets our uncompromising standards and aligns with your expectations.
Whether we’ve executed a seamless addition using our STEEL Structure Homes system, resolved long-standing deficiencies, or modernized your space with a high-end renovation, this phase is about restoring confidence in your home and delivering long-term peace of mind.
At handover, we walk you through every modification, installation, and upgraded feature—making sure you’re comfortable with the changes, aware of maintenance guidelines, and fully satisfied with the results. All documentation, warranties, and service instructions are provided in a professional and easy-to-understand format.
We’re not just finishing a project—we’re stepping in where others stepped away, standing behind our work, and giving BONE Structure homeowners something that’s been missing for too long: a trusted partner who understands their home, honors its legacy, and delivers with precision. Your home is once again complete—and you’re never on your own again.

BONE Structure Home Services
Exterior Upgrades
At STEEL Structure Homes, we deliver specialized exterior upgrade and modernization work for owners of homes originally built and marketed as BONE Structure homes. After a decade of hands-on experience constructing these assemblies, we understand where exterior projects succeed or fail: at the interfaces—roof edges, soffit and fascia returns, window and door transitions, penetrations, cladding terminations, and the water-management details that protect the structure over time. Whether your goal is a full exterior makeover with new cladding, a targeted leak correction, or a performance-focused envelope upgrade that improves durability, comfort, and long-term resilience, we approach the work with disciplined sequencing, clean detailing, and an engineered mindset. The result is not simply a cosmetic refresh—it’s an exterior that looks intentional, sheds water properly, and is built to perform for the next chapter of ownership.
Interior Renovations
For BONE Structure homeowners, interior renovations are rarely just about finishes—they’re about making changes without compromising the structural logic and performance of a home that was built differently. At STEEL Structure Homes, we bring 10 years of hands-on experience with these assemblies to interior upgrades, reconfigurations, and structural modifications. Whether you’re opening up a kitchen and living area, modifying partitions, upgrading stair layouts, or planning larger changes that require engineered openings and load-path confirmation, we coordinate the work properly—scope, sequencing, permitting, and engineering where required—so the finished space looks intentional and functions flawlessly. The goal is a refined interior that reflects how you live today, while respecting the structural realities behind the walls and delivering workmanship that holds up over time.
Additions & Expansions
At STEEL Structure Homes, we specialize in engineered additions and expansions for owners of homes originally built and marketed as BONE Structure homes—projects where the tie-in is everything. Whether you’re adding 3,000 sq ft, extending the main living area, creating a new wing, or building out a garage or studio, we approach the work with a structural-first mindset: confirm load paths, coordinate engineering where required, and design the connection points so the new construction integrates cleanly with the existing system. Beyond the structure, we focus on continuity—matching exterior lines, managing water and air control layers properly, and sequencing the build so performance and aesthetics are preserved. The result is an expansion that doesn’t feel “tacked on,” but rather like it was always part of the home—executed with precision, clarity, and long-term durability in mind.
Support & Advisory
At STEEL Structure Homes, we offer BONE Structure homeowners a dedicated Support and Advisory service designed for one simple outcome: you have a trusted expert to call when something comes up, and a clear path forward when you’re ready to act. Many owners aren’t looking to start a full renovation immediately—they want knowledgeable guidance on leaks, window and door issues, exterior detailing concerns, future upgrades, and long-range planning, especially when local contractors hesitate because they don’t understand the system. We can diagnose issues remotely, help define the right scope, review proposals, and coordinate qualified trades in your region with the sequencing and detailing these homes require. When projects are larger or more complex, we can provide on-site support as needed. The goal is calm, competent stewardship of your home—reducing risk, avoiding costly missteps, and protecting the value and performance of a house that was built differently.
Parts and Materials Notice
We do not manufacture, sell, or represent any ‘BONE Structure’ branded parts or OEM components. Where new materials, assemblies, or structural elements are required, they are independently specified and supplied under our scope and/or by third-party suppliers, in accordance with project engineering and applicable code.
Where Building Science Meets
Net Zero Design
ICF Foundations
At STEEL Structure Homes, our expertise in building science and steel construction extends seamlessly into additions and expansions for BONE Structure homes. When modifying a BONE Structure home, we apply the same Net Zero Ready building standards used in our new construction projects, including insulated concrete form (ICF) foundations and precision steel framing. These systems provide unmatched thermal efficiency, structural integrity, and long-term durability, allowing us to integrate new sections without compromising the original design. Whether you’re planning a second storey, larger living space, or garage addition, our approach ensures superior energy performance, airtightness, and aesthetic cohesion. Your BONE Structure home deserves a partner that understands both its legacy and its future—and that’s exactly what we deliver.
Radiant Heating
At STEEL Structure Homes, radiant in-floor heating plays a central role in the high-performance systems we integrate into every BONE Structure home addition or expansion. As the most experienced Steel Home Builders in North America with over a decade of BONE Structure expertise, we know how to seamlessly marry this advanced heating solution with existing steel-framed architecture. Radiant heating offers consistent warmth without the noise, dust, or airflow issues of traditional forced-air systems—and it can reduce heating costs by up to 30%. Whether you’re expanding your living space, finishing a basement, or building an entirely new wing, our radiant floor systems are engineered to maximize comfort, energy efficiency, and long-term value—while staying true to the design integrity of your original BONE Structure home.
Insulation
At STEEL Structure Homes, insulation is not just a detail—it’s a defining feature of our commitment to performance, comfort, and energy efficiency. When working on additions, expansions, or upgrades to existing BONE Structure Homes, we bring the same high-performance insulation strategies used in our steel-framed builds to ensure seamless integration and optimized results. As expert Steel Home Builders with over a decade of BONE Structure experience, we understand how to insulate hybrid systems without compromising the thermal envelope. Using premium materials like closed-cell spray foam and Rockwool Safe’n’Sound, we eliminate cold spots, prevent air leakage, and fortify your home against harsh climate. Every application is verified with thermal imaging to confirm airtightness and consistency. Whether you’re extending a BONE Structure property or enhancing its energy profile, our insulation systems deliver lasting performance, comfort, and peace of mind.
